The two works present on this album were recorded during the month of May in a time of great uncertainty regarding the entire social situation that in the country (and the rest of the world) unfortunately extends to the present moment and does not have a precise date to change. Besides this external factor that certainly directed the music itself to a state ranging from resigned contemplation to heroic restlessness along with my long-standing interests in iso-polyphony and digital treatments, the studies I have been conducting on certain analogous architectural and musical operations have invariably "contaminated" the entire creative process. Such operations, in particular those regarding modularity and symmetry (Columbarium, based on an additive palindrome) in addition to those that concern elements whose repetition and gradual modification are perceptible in a space-time continuum (Debutantes on a Seesaw, in which various delays and glitches modify the initial material), differently from being employed systematically, in this album they are means and not ends. To title such project I opted for an excerpt from my favorite book, Le Diable au corps (The Devil in the Flesh) by Raymond Radiguet, whose meaning seems to me appropriate for the final result in strictly aesthetic terms.
